Hey ya'll I'm just another one in the masses who is wondering what Phish Phans really are? I love this band, i have for quite some time now. They are a great thing. Theres probably nothing that can, or ever will come close to my love for this band. They are truly amazing.

Luckily for me there are plenty of people in my school who share in this love. Which I think is great. But thre are those who refuse to wear a peice of clothing that doesnt have the word PHISH on it, or have something to do with the band. Which is all gravy. And then there are those who dont. I happen to be one of those. Most of the time i have on a Polo shirt and chino kahkis.

Now from what i've read (mostly on this website) that shouldn't make me any less of a "true phish head." But then other articles i read and what ive heard some people say, that by not mkaing my own pants or wearing some sort of "hippy cothing" that im not a fan. Which makes no sense to me, b/c the same people who say those things also say shitlike "phish is all one groove" and "Phish is a giant family." Which i completely agree with. But, is that not totatally contradicting?

I have a case or two of shows, but thats not what makes me a fan. I dont know when every blissful YEM was played, or when the last time fishman was on the vaccum. But i do listen to phish, i do enjoy every rockin second of it. Actually not every second of it, which is another thing i here way to much of. No fan loves every second of every song, no matter how heady they try and make themselves sound. Whether or not we want to admit it we all have our favorites, and the ones we dont like. And most of them different from our fan friends. But is that not ok? Or does that make us anyless of a fan?

Drugs and Alcohol, is another thing. Now ive smoked my fair share of bud, and love drinkin beer. Does that matter? Back to friends at school. I know people who have smoked more bud than i could ever imagine, and some who have been arrested for selling acid. And then others who have never even tasted their parents champagne on New Years. Which of the two is the bigger fan? Is one a bigger fan b/c they do drugs, or is the other any less of a fan because he thinks its wrong? NO. It just mkae no sense to hold prejudices in this "family."

On top of me being a polo guy, I also play two varsity sports. Football and baseball. I like going to friday night waffle house aftera game, or going on dates with non fans. I dont thats a bad thing at all.

Sorry, now im just babbling, but my point is that if we are all to get along in this wonderful family then we should not be forced to choose between "Polo or Phish."
