I remember the very first time I heard Phish. My brothers and I had just gone through a difficult period where we had to wean ourselves off of Nirvana, and into something else. We weren't completely sure what it was going to be. My brother had picked up "Picture of Nectar" after seeing it described as one of the worst albums of the year by People magazine. He was in the laundry room (doing laundry, of course) with the CD playing. 

I walked in and he said, "Joe, listen to this." He turned on Stash. He said, "Close your eyes, it feels like you're in the ocean." Wow. It was a sign of the future, when we would go to a countless amount of concerts, closing our eyes, feeling the music. Even now, when I turn on that song, I remember the very first time, when I turned away from mainstream music forever. Thanks, guys.
