PholkTales: Random Acts of Kindness
It was the morning of the last day of that magical weekend known as Bonnaroo. My friends and I had to be at work by 8 o'clock the next morning (we didn't make it, but that's another story). So, we decided that since we were in the farthest possible campsite from the gates, we would move my Subaru Outback a little closer so we could be at work on time the next morning.

Well, lo and behold it wouldn't start. I asked the people next to us if they had jumper cables and they did. The only problem was that we had to push my car around to the front of their truck. This meant waking up this guy (who passed out from too much xanax) in his tent because it was in the way. While waiting we talked and just kicked it with the people who were going to be jumping my car. Their names were Alison and Ken-Dog. They gave me and my friends a few beers and we puffed a few bowls.

After waiting for what seemed like an hour, the sleeping xanax man finally got up. We pushed my car around, jumped it and let it run for a little while. After exchanging e-mail addresses, we left and drove up closer to the gate, then walked toward the shows. On the way we passed a girl who had what looked like a few ten strips of paper in her hand. I asked her if she could hook me up, and she said she wasn't sure if they were real, but had just taken some so come back in an hour.

I came back and didn't find her, but guess who I did find at this girl's campsite. It was Alison, and we hugged again, since we thought we wouldn't see each other again before the end of the festival. She offered us more beer and I accepted. Then we hugged again and parted once more.

We told her where she would be able to find us during the Phil and Friends set, but we didn't see her again that weekend. I just want to say, once again, thank you to Alison and Ken-Dog for being exactly what our scene is all about, love, sharing and being good family. Take it easy everyone.

- Sam
