PholkTales: Random Acts of Kindness
I have been meaning to post this story up here for ages because it is such a beautiful story about what a great, loving, caring phamily we are all a part of, and I am finally getting around to it.

I was at the Merriweather show during Fall of 2000 with two of my buddies, and we were walking around the lots before the show. We saw this dude selling bottles of water and soda out of his backpack. I was about to buy a bottle of water from him when this big narc comes, grabs his backpack and says, "Look... I warned you before, if I catch you again you're outta here." Then, he took the backpack and dumped all of the bottles on the ground... he seemed to take pleasure in the fact that a bunch of kids had dove for the bottles (me included) and were screwing this guy over (or so it seemed).

I was hoping that everybody was thinking the same thing as me, and they were -- as soon as the narc was gone, everybody gave the bottles back to the guy we were supposedly "stealing" them from!!! The guy was so humble and so thankful that it almost brought tears to my eyes. After all, all he was trying to do was support himself and his girl and their beautiful baby.

It is stuff like this that makes me so proud and so happy to be part of a scene like this. Thank you Phish (please come back soon) and thanks to all of you!
