PholkTales: Random Acts of Kindness
Previous to my first trip to Limestone, ME, I had always been a firm protestor of N20. Having heard childhood horror stories concerning reddi-whip, which haunted me in certain mental states, I had always objected to post show 'loons in years previous. However, the whole feel of the Went, the electricity of the boys on the first night, the thousands of phriends, and having my kidZ with me to take in the whole thing just made me feel like EVERYTHING was good. Hence my boys Danny Mac, Roetsy and I rushed immediately towards the first hissing sound.

While we waited in line there was the unmistakeable sound of $5 popping in the cool Maine air, and a sympathetic "Awwwwwww," sound erupting from those near by. There were also these two jackasses complaining about the size of their balloons, and how everyone else was getting bigger ones....??? I'll dive into what happened with those two tools later. Back to it... So my kidz and I get our balloons, 2 for me (but i would have gotten as many as i could had i not been a N2O virgin) and 3 for danny and roetsy apiece...

Well, we were en route to our campsite and I started to enjoy my new purchase... just a little at first to test the waters.... I can't describe the feeling of your first taste, but those who know can relate.... So I dove in hard...

The next thing i know... There appeared 3 floating shadows in front of me... I was so far back that i could only process shapes... slowly at first these shadows snapped into the face of a lovely young sister who was slapping me hard in my grill!! When i came back to things, she said she was watching me walk (and got a kick out of my expressions as i took in ALL the sounds) when I Fished backwards Hard onto the pavement like a stone statue... Balloons still in hand... she said i was gone for a good 3 minutes and she was starting to get worried...

I told her I was new at it...she laughed, touched my face and told me everything was good, and that she was impressed that I hadn't lost my 'loons. I gave her my other Balloon and we sat near her car and enjoyed the rest. As I headed off, I looked back to say a last thank you, but she was already off in the crowd... Needless to say, my kidz got a kick out of it when i got back to my tent. The rest of the weekend was too amazing to try to put into words... but I can say another thanks to the sister who helped me off the ground... You know who you are.

Happy Holidays
