PholkTales: Phishy Coincidences
In the summer of '99, I was riding with a friend of mine who I had met on tour the summer before. He realized during the Holmdel run that his car was having some problems and that he needed to go back home and get it fixed or risk a serious breakdown. I had tickets for every night of the tour and decided that I would continue on and catch back up with him later.

So he chilled and helped me find a ride to Oswego and told me if he wasn't in Oswego by the second day that he would def be in toronto. So oswego comes and goes and no sign of him.  Fortunately i quickly found a ride to toronto.

The day of the show arrives, and we hit the lots rather early. I cruise around most of the day not concerned with finding my friend, figuring our paths will cross. The day starts to turn to evening and still no sign of him. I grow a little bit concerned since not finding him would mean I'd have to find a ride that night across the border to Pittsburgh.

So 7:00 comes around, and the crew i was hanging with decides they're going in. I say alright... I'm gonna wait here and look around a few more minutes. So i pace back and forth and finally say fuck it, i'm going in. As I near my pavillion seat i hear, "hey." I turn to see my friend whom I spent several hours looking for, standing right there.

I realize he is awfully close to where my seat is, and so i looked over at him.  For some reason, knowing that something weird was about to happen, I say, "Don't even tell me that's your real seat."  He pulls out his ticket stub... sure enough there we were, seated side by side. I just chuckled and thought to myself I should have known.
