PholkTales: Phishy Coincidences
This past summer marked the beginning of my Phish mania. My first show was 7/15/00 at Polaris, and it was the last show of the summer tour.  A few days before the show, something interesting happened.

I was working at a Boy Scout summer camp that summer as a counselor, and a very interesting thing happened. There was an adult leader who loved to work with leather. He had taken pieces of leather and pressed images onto them... They ranged from musical notes to nature imagery.

During the week, he'd walk around with these pieces of leather, asking people what they'd learned during the week. One day i was picking up bits and pieces of trash off the ground, and he comes up to me, asking what i had learned. I said something like, "i learned to be mindful of time" or something to that extent. So, he gave me a piece of leather.

At that point, I was busy and didn't see what was on it. I soon made a hole in it and put it on a necklace.  That weekend, I went to the show and had a blast.  I woke up the next morning to find that i had worn the necklace to the show. I looked at the piece of leather, and guess what was on it... a fish!!! It was from that moment on that i decided I would worship Phish.
