PholkTales: Phishy Coincidences
This past summer I was driving home with my friend from a wedding about a week before the Camden shows. We stopped at this small gas station around 1 AM and while filling up we hear some one screaming from the other side of the gas station. I take a peek, but living in New York you learn to ignore most screaming people at 1 in the morning. I then notice that's it is just some guy that was parked in the station.

He comes up to the car and he looks pretty harmless. He says hello and that his name is Jeremy. He gives us a brief life story and tells us that he's on his way to see some friends in New Jersey. His car had ran out of gas, and he was towed to this remote gas station on the Major Deegan Expressway. He paid the tow truck, and he had no more money to get gas for the car because the ATM inside was broken. My buddy and I gave him 10 bucks and we were on our way.

A week later I am in Camden for the July 3rd and 4th shows. It started raining extremely hard and I was getting soaked on the lawn. I refused to try and take cover, but boy was I uncomfortable. After the tremendous first set, I decided to go to the Dry Goods stand and pick up some dry clothing, I bought a long sleeve t but I was still freezing and wet.

All of a sudden I hear somebody screaming "Tuxedo Boy" behind me. I turn around to see what's going on, and I can't figure out where the scream is coming from. Next thing I know the guy screaming Tuxedo Boy was standing next to me, and I was the tuxedo boy. Turns out it was Jeremy, and he was calling me Tuxedo boy because I was wearing a tux when he saw me in the gas station a week before. He got me into the pavilion where I was able to stay nice and warm and dry off a little bit from the rain. It's a pretty small world this thing we call Phish.
