PholkTales: Phishy Coincidences
I know that sometimes at shows we feel that we can trust all the fans around us, and for the most part, I have and will always. My friends, on the other hand, probably won't, just maybe one dude.

My two friends Adam and Kevin, my girlfriend and I all went up to "It." We wound up waiting in the traffic all the way up there but just sat and had a few beers, and puffed all the way up. It was one of the most unbelievable things I have ever been to, with everyone just camping out getting ready to have a great time.

So it's the first night before the show and we are just hanging out and relaxing when this old dude rolls through our campsite with this weird ass hat on and long hair. He seemed like a very friendly guy, talking about how Neil Young was the greatest band in the world and all of his excitement of the show.

Then the guy pulls out his merchandise (shrooms), and I would swear they were something out of Alice in Wonderland. Without a doubt my friends buy them. The guy goes on his merry way and tells us to enjoy the show.

After eating our natural goodies, we head over to the venue, which is sick.... Sunk City, enough said. Great first set, opened with AC/DC Bag, great Runaway, and loved Cavern. Trippin and have a great time. After the first set I learn that my buddies are not tripping whatsoever. The mushrooms they took were not real. Pissed was not the word to describe the thoughts of my friends, but this is not the point. We enjoyed the rest of "It" and my friends eventually got over it.

Yet, it was not until the recent SPAC show 6/19 first night that we ran into our friend from "It." We are just hanging out in the lot enjoying the beautiful weather until we see our Neil Young buddy roll up with this weird hat on and long hair, same as the last time we saw him.

My friend Adam and I saw and thought about saying something, but you know I think it's really not worth it. Phish and its fans our a community, and even though people tend to do stuff like that, fighting isn't the answer. Phish is there for our enjoyment, and if people are going to do stuff like that to mess up a fan's experience at the show, they should stay the f*** out.

For all you fans out there see this guy described at a show, ask him if he likes neil young and say no I ain't buying magic marker-colored mushrooms. Happy Phishin everyone and follow this important safety tip.
