PholkTales: Phishy Coincidences
The following is a story that my friend told me. It's nothing outrageous or extreme, just odd. I might be a bit off with a detail or two, but you can get the jist.

I was at a show with my friend Jill in Minnesota during a summer tour. Just before the boys took the stage, it started pouring rain. Jill was wearing a plain white t-shirt with no bra on underneath. Being the gentleman I am, I took my shirt off and gave it to her. As the show continued, so did the rain. They closed the first set with Chalkdust torture.

So during the break, we're just sitting there and Jill says, "You're shivering man." I hadn't realized I was actually freezing. I just needed the music. So as I'm sitting there, getting sick, low and behold: a dry t-shirt sitting in front of me. I glanced around to see if someone was looking for it, nobody. I pick it up and throw it on, it was a gray, '93 tour shirt. A bone-dry shirt in the middle of thousands, during a thunderstorm.

We eventually snuck down to front row and had a great time. I still have the shirt today. I like to think it belonged to someone who saw me shivering and wanted to be friendly and anonymous. If you're out there, thanks a lot.

- George
