I was just thinking how each of these seven Western Shows could represent one of the major chakras of the body. Vegas being the pit of sex and money that it is, shows perfectly the base instinct of the first (Root) chakra at the base of the spine. Sex drive and survival instinct. 

The second chakra is at the belly button (Creativity) and even though this is also in Vegas, it is Trey's birthday. The CREATION of Phish. Also this is Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year where we all hope to create a sweet and peaceful new year for all. This may end up being a Harpua-like storytelling night. 

Then is the stop in Phoenix where we have a rest day in the desert to meditate. The third chakra is in the solar plexus, just below the rib cage (POWER) A chance to regain strength and allign the body's energy channels with the power vortex of Sedona in the desert. When I think of power, I usually think of the desert. 

The next stop in San Diego is more personal. This, the fourth chakra, is the heart. As I grew up here and have finally made it home for a show after so long, this is truly where my heart is. A chance to see friends and family after years of travel will do my heart good. Irvine is close enough to Los Angeles to be affected by the entertainment industry. How they all love their masks! In business and play, it's all about personality and your image. 

The fifth chakra is at the throat and is often associated with personality. Not that people in LA have good ones, just that they try to manipulate theirs to be whatever image they'd like to personify. 

Finally we make it back to Shoreline for the sixth and seventh shows. These chakras are the third eye and the crown which is actually above the head as a kind of bridge or link to the universal energy (God) around us. If you don't believe in any of this, that's fine...but most people in San Francisco do. San Francisco has always been a center of new-age philosophers and powerful gurus. These will be the powerhouse shows. Not to mention that the Shoreline Amphitheater is designed like a "Steal Your Face" with the twin Circus tent spires for eyes. This puts the performer on stage directly between the eyes and slightly above. 

If these two shows are the culmination of the energy rising from root to crown in some sort of peaceful prayer, then look for an "OM" at the end. In most religions the Om is used in some sort (Aum-Amen) as a power word after a prayer to focus the creative light energy on what you intend to create. We're in for some crazy shit!

Pixies- If man is five, then the devil is six...and if the devil is six then GOD IS SEVEN!!! Prince- Oh Seven now we'll watch them fall. They stand in the way of love and we will smote them all. Beatles- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 all good children go to heaven

Seventh heaven is a reference to the seventh (crown) chakra's link to the God energy around us. In India one of the major gods is known as Shiva. In Hebrew and Arabic the number seven is Sheva. Just something to think about. Take care and I'll see you at the show!
