PholkTales: Phishy Coincidences
In December of '99 I flew out to the East Coast (Baltimore) from Vegas to catch the last four gigs of Fall '99 before Big Cypress (I actually live about an hour-and-a-half north of Vegas in the very Southwestern Corner of Utah: A beautiful "small city, big town" called St. George, right near Zion National Park).

I landed in Maryland, then took Amtrak trains to D.C., Raleigh, North Carolina, up to Hampton for the last two shows of the tour, then BACK down to Raleigh to fly home. Traveling by train was really fun! On the ride from DC down to Raleigh I met this super nice girl named Cheryl Bond (Cheryl, if you're out there, gimme a call!!) who hooked me up with a ride to the venue via her friends who were on tour. That was a really cool experience. . .

Any-who, at the first show of my mini-tour, in DC, (aside from seeing a car accident involving a Cop, which was HILARIOUS, but that's a whole different story altogether. . .) during the first set, they played Train Song! I was like, "cool! Train Song to start off my Train Tour!" Then, the next day in Raleigh they did Get Back on the Train. "Whoa! That's pretty weird!" I thought to myself, after spending ALL DAY on a train!

The first night of Hampton they played When the Circus Comes to Town--and, traditionally, how did Circus's travel? BY TRAIN!! (alright, so that one's a bit of a stretch, but humor me!) Finally, second night of Hampton--ANOTHER G.B.O.T.T.!!! Hot Damn! What a way to end my train-bound mini-tour!

- Mike Jones (aka Michael P)

PS: To Ryan (the girl who chilled with me in Hampton at the Hotel) from Kentucky--Every time I see WSP I think of you! I'm always keeping my eyes peeled but I haven't seen you yet! If you happen to see this, drop me an e-mail! Peace out and stay positive kids!
