PholkTales: Phishy Coincidences
MSG 12/29/98:

I decide to sit behind the stage for the first time ever, and I had been walking around with a poster board sign I had made.  The sign said "Crosseyed & Painless" (needless to say lots of compliments), and in between the first and second set a guy from the stage crew was directly under me. So I ask him if he will put it up on the stage so the band will see it. He said "NO," but then he said, "I will take it back stage and give to Trey personally."

So I gave him the sign.  He brought it back to me before the second set, and they had drawn on the back of the poster. During the 2001 they played a wicked Crosseyed and Painless tease, then about 7 rows in front of Trey a guy had a cool poster with "Boogie On Reggae Woman," and I watched Trey turn to Mike and John and just start up Boogie on. I was numb with the energy between the band and Phans that night.

To top this story off, on 12/30/98 I got backstage passes, gave the sign to Mike Gordon personally, thanked him for the tease and said hopefully you'll play it soon :) So we were all "still waiting" for a year, then on New Year's 2000 in Phlorida we got it:)
