PholkTales: Phishy Coincidences
This story starts when i was in 5th grade.  An older friend of mine gave me a tape of this band phish. the first song that stuck with me was sample in a jar (not a particularly great song), but for some reason, it sticks in my head as the first song i had ever heard.

After a couple years had passed, me my friend (the one who gave me the tape) and a few others headed down to the meadows music theatre for the 6-30 7-1 '00 shows... it was the first time the band had played hartford. The second night of the run, somewhere in the first set, the band busted into sample.

After i realized i was hearing my first sample, I trucked across the lawn to find my friend who had first introduced me to this song. I went up to him and gave him a big hug and told him, "you don't know how much this means to me... they are playing the song you introduced me to, and we are at this show together... and i wouldn't have become what i am now if you never introduced me this great band."

10 days later, my friend died in a car accident.  It just happened to be the night of the moby dick fest at deer creek (sense a little irony).  These were my last words to this great friend, and i cant imagine a better way the remember him by.
