PholkTales: Odd Phans
Oswego '99: I think anyone near the port-o-johns about 300 yards in front of the stage saw the mud-fest that took place between sets on the second night. It started off as a few kids running and sliding through a big pool of mud created by the nearby water spigots. As more people began to crowd around and watch, it turned into a WWF wrestle fest.

At one point there was a great-looking girl wrestling a taller, skinny kid in the middle of the mud. She did surprisingly well in the match-up, managing to throw the kid around a few times, and she actually dominated the contest. It kind of looked like she had wrestled before, unless the kid was unusually weak.

I was kind of hoping some of her clothes would accidentally slip off during the match (can you blame me?), but I wasn't that lucky. There were other wrestling matches among fans, but that one was the best.

The highlight of the event came when a one kid decided to pull the old Jimmy Fly Snooka (old school wrestling fans will recognize that one). He first climbed up on top of a port-o-john, held his hands high to rile up the crowd, then jumped into the mud pit with a splash and a fall.

He did this several times, then thought he'd be a little more ambitious. He soon climbed the huge water tower thing that held all the water for the spigots… this structure was at least 20, maybe 30 feet high. As he prepared to jump, I was sure he was going to break a limb when he landed.

To my surprise, he leaped and landed safely, with no real injuries and a whole lot of cheering from everyone watching. This mud pit party was definitely the best set-break entertainment I've ever had the chance to enjoy.
