PholkTales: Near Catastrophes
7/23/99 Columbus Oh. (my first show): post show it rained like crazy. At first I wanted to leave to beat the traffic, but we just said "forget it."  My younger brother had this idea to start a community trade of useless items throughout the parking lot to see what we could end up with. We would start off with a nickel and trade it for an empty whiskey bottle, those people would trade that for something else, then trade to someone else, and so on.

Well anyways, we approached this guy and asked him if he could trade anything for (i don't remember).  Hilariously, he got really excited about the idea and started searching around his van for anything.

My friend Adam noticed this girl who was just sitting all by herself hugging her knees. She was shaking and crying. A couple of minutes went by before one of us asked her what was wrong. She told us that she was lost and she didn't know where her friends were. She said they were leaving for Deer Creek. She also told me that she had taken too much x and something else.

We asked her if we could help her find her friends, but as she began to stand up, she just immediately fell over and passed out. She was lying on her back and she was beginning to vomit. I was a lifeguard at the time so i just freaked out. I knew that if you are vomiting while unconsciously lying on your back you can possibly CHOKE TO DEATH.

A good five minutes went by while I was doing what is referred to as a finger sweep to the mouth to remove any vomit that could keep her airway obstructed. Her eyes opened (THANK GOD), and she coughed profusely after that before sat up. We helped her walk to a security guard (errgh) to help her find her friends. She gave me an Austin Powers change pouch as a thank you present. If you are reading this I still have it. :)
