PholkTales: Near Catastrophes
We were heading to St. Louis for what was to be one of the most memorable shows of my life.  I believe it was 1995.

Here's the story.  On the way there, our transmission started slipping horribly... So bad that we were unable to climb even the smallest hill. We popped the hood, and I examined the car for anything that I could find to be wrong. Turns out some damn hose had come loose, and we had lost all of our tranny fluid. The car wouldn't drive at all, and we were in the middle of nowhere.

Two of us decided to jog up the road for a few miles and try to find a gas station. After about 3 miles of jogging, we found an old, run-down gas station. We bought several containers of fluid and argued with the mechanic about weather or not he should let us borrow a screwdriver to refasten the hose.

To make a long story short, we got the screwdriver, fixed the car, returned the screwdriver, and were on our way.

The show turned out to be awesome.  John Popper showed up and played nearly 2 sets with the boyz, and we didnt even see our seats once. We went right to the floor :)
