PholkTales: Miscellaneous
Highway 5 is a straight burn No Cal to So Cal. At this time of year, it is a luscious green drive through the fifth largest economy in the world. A fan of the engineering feat known as the California Aqueduct many an ex used to criticize the stops I would make to watch it flow south. As I gazed upon the life blood of the San Fernando valley I realized I had good cell phone reception. Time to make call.

Being alone as I was and getting good reception on my cell it was time to make some calls.  "Bhati!" "Shit Tooth!"
"Where are you stain' in the Veg?" "MGM but were in LA now" "Haven't left yet?" "Tour opener is tonight dumbass"
"I thought it was last night?" I admit, I'm bad with dates. "No dumbass, its tonight, Great Western Forum, I have a Ticket for
you if you need it." "Oh no Shit!"

Roadmaps flew through my mind. "Yeah Shittooth, its in Inglewood 'up to no good', where are you?" "2 hours away" not thinking I have to take to take the 405. "Okay, we're going in early but I'll leave your ticket.." "What?" "Look, I'm a make it real easy, right outside the Forum, there's' Parking Section H..." "How many 'H' lot sings are there? Twelve?" "Unusually there's only one" "I'll still be fucked" "Its Megan's car" "Uh...." "Its a Silver Honda Civic two rows in the opposite direction of the
arena, you can't miss it"

By this time I had joined the parking lot they call the 405 freeway.  The reasons I dislike LA began to scroll in front of my eyes like the credits to a movie.

"Honda Civics are the base street platform for every quarter mile speed freak on the west coast!! How am I gonna know?"
"Easy, I'm gonna put an 'I love beaver' on the back"
"Que?" "It Says 'I' then has a heart shape, and then a picture of Beaver"

The 405 was beginning to get on my nerves so I took the 10 over to La Brea down into the heart of Inglewood. "Alright, I'll be there..." The traffic of LA made considerable dislike for the big three, good business rarely equates to a comfortable urban environment..

But, true to his word and easy directions, a ticket to the Great Western Forum was waiting for me behind the license plate of an innocuous grey Honda Civic with an "I Love Beaver" sticker on the bumper.

People had mixed reviews for the show. But openers are always just that; warm ups, I knew that going in and received more than I expected.

However most of the crowd seemed to be there because the vast and great City of Angels had nothing else to offer them.
Tour openers are always weird and basic at the same time, I understand why they got LA out of the way right off. But no none of the real rock fans cared, next up.....

LAS VEGAS.....
