PholkTales: Miscellaneous
Well, I have only been a Phishhead since 2001 when I listened to Farmhouse, and can honestly say, it changed my life. If you could now see my CD collection... in the whole grand scheme of things, I am sure that my "show" collection is minimal, but it keeps me busy, and VERY HAPPY!!!

Anyway, February 2002 I traveled to Atlanta (I live in El Paso, TX) to visit my best friend and to see moe. at the Tabernacle (excellent shows, by the way). Greg and I discussed what an amazing time we had, and how cool it would be to have that same kind of experience at a Phish show (neither one of us have ever seen Phish live, and we have both been phans for about the same time).

So, the e-mail notification comes out that the hiatus is over! We are realists, we know that neither one of us will be able to attend the NYE or Hampton shows, so we wait. The next e-mail comes, announcing the February tour. Vegas BABY!! As Vegas is only 10 hrs. from El Paso, that makes the most sense. And in February, at that!! We can begin to make February an annual event!! So, we start planning for Vegas.

We throw our name in the lottery. Nothing like waiting till the last minute to find out that you didn't get the tickets (if your are gonna tell me no, tell me no quickly, put me outta my misery)! So, we wait until the tickets go on sale to the public.

I have a high-speed internet connection, a cell phone and my regular phone. I sat there on a Saturday morning in December, both phones in hand, 3 different internet windows open, all trying to get tickets. An hour into it, the first message comes up, the 2/15 show is sold out.... hopefully we will have better luck for 2/16. A 1/2 hour later, the next message comes up, sold out. I was bummed. I gave it the old college try, to no avail, no Vegas.

I talk to Greg, he says we will still go, as we got tickets to moe. for 2/15 as a back up. Well, now he's backed out on me, and I am off to Vegas for the first time in my life, by myself, hoping for a miracle on a Saturday nite. What an amazing Valentine's day that would be if I could find me a ticket for Vegas, baby!!

The one thing that I do know out of all of this, is that although I don't have tickets, I WILL see Phish, eventually! I am proud to be a phan and part of the phamily!!
