PholkTales: Miscellaneous
It was friday, November 16, 2001 and Phil Lesh was making a stop in Burlington, Vermont for his fall tour. As I was only 13 at the time (it was an early birthday present... my birthday was a month away), a good friend of mine and me had to tag along with our pholks and their phriends. I didn't mind though cause we all get along real good.

The whole way from our home (little town 10 minutes from Canada) to Burlington we listened to recordings of the Dead to get ourselves pumped up for the show. As we get seated and wait for the show to start me, and my friend decide to cruise the auditorium.

We didn't find anything interesting besides a whole bunch of anxious people, but as we cruise we hear gossip of a "special guest". Right when I hear this I know it's someone from Phish, I mean its got to be! We're in their hometown!!!

Phil played a great show. At the end before the encore he then announced that his good buddie was here with him tonight and would play the last song. Then he just shouts, "Please put your hands together for Page McConnell from Phish!!!!" Just hearing his name I got chills and ran to the front of the stage. It was crazy; they played "midnight hour" while Page wailed on the piano (like no other could).

That was the best birthday present I ever got, seeing two musical gods on one stage... man, I can't wait to see Phish...
