Being from upstate New York, my idea of a state park includes a nice picnic area. State parks in Virginia are not like that, apparently. It was a swamp. A bog with dense bushes and all kinds of critters. But we didnt care, we just curled up in the bushes and slept. 

Later, we woke up and called a friend of a friends' cousin or something that lived in Va Beach. She graciously took us in and let us take a nap. Wearing a black robe, she cooked us heart shaped pancakes and told us about her husband, and the beefy guy she was having an affair with. She tells this to six strange guys, half her age. Kinda strange. 

Anyhow, the show was flabbergasting. Terrapin encore. Sixth row seats. We slept in a rest stop that night on the way to Star Lake in Pennsylvania. When I woke up, I itched. Really itched. I went to wash up and discovered, to my horror, that I was covered in disgusting red welts. Everywhere on my body. Everywhere. 

I thought perhaps I had been stung by jellyfish (we swam in the ocean in Virginia). Some local yokel told me of a poisonous spider epidemic in the area. I thought I had a horrible disease, and being a little paranoid from years of excessive THC, I went to the Emergency Room. Diagnosis: Chiggers. Sand fleas that burrow under your skin and chill. And reproduce. So they give me antiobiotics and chigger killer and send me on my way. The moral of the story: 1. Don't sleep in the swamp. 2. Don't combine psilocybin and chigger medication. Ever. Never Ever.
