PholkTales: Encounters With the Band
So me and this buddy of mine are at this Trey concert in Charlottesville, Virginia on the 28th of October of this year (2002), and it was our first time seeing just Trey live. We were stoked and psychedelic, ready to go in and groove thanks to our friend with the beard and the chocolates who will remain nameless.

We were just taking it to the head the whole concert when, at the late part of the second set, they started and played some Ether Sunday. Well, once we came back from never-never land in that sick lighting, we realize that the band is making a little parade and walking through the crowed along the edge of the court (they were playing at the basketball arena and it had a wall just before the stands). They were just walking and having a grand time meshing with us.

IT WAS our moment of truth as humans and we were booming too hard to react. Trey walked past and i looked at him face to face and he just put on that grin and jammed on. We just stood there, in the clouds, and let the moment happen. It was incredible.

Another thing happened that was also great.  Trey wore a UVA soccer jersey for the second set as a favor to a girl that played on the soccer team there that was having a birthday. Ends up i knew that girl and had chilled around her at a little gathering up there a few months prior. The whole concert was unreal for more than a couple reasons, and it remains one of my best concert experiences ever. Oh yeah thanks for that encore too Trey, that was sick. After this show, i truly was, Alive Again.
