PholkTales: Encounters With the Band
my daughter, who is six years old (5 at the time of this story), was riding in the van on our way to see Trey in cleveland.... the whole way there we were playing various games to keep her occupied on the trip up there. at one point, she had taken a piece of paper and cut it into a small rectangular shape and began coloring it....

when we arrived to the parking lot, David (boyfriend & driving) stopped at the gate where the parking attendant took $$ and told us where to park. Dariyn (daughter) took the paper she she had colored, and rushed to the front of the van, "Here, can you please give this ticket to Trey, please?" I asked the lady just to humor us and take the piece of paper and smile... she did.

David said something about "Trey really won't get the ticket, now..." i looked at him like "duh?!"

Dariyn had heard this and requested that we go back to the lot attendant and get "TREY'S TICKET" back... i honored her request... and we asked the lady for the paper back... she picked it up off the floor and smiled strangely at us... (it was just a piece of paper to her).

Dariyn explained that everyone has tickets to go see Trey, but no one had given Trey a ticket.... on that note we went inside the gates.

David was now on a mission to give Trey his ticket.

David, with Dariyn up on his shoulders, weaved his way to the front row.... security had been yelling at him the whole way (did you know: you can not have a child on your shoulders in America anymore--- for risk that someone might fall/get injured and sue!!---what the F#$*?)David decided to take her off of his shoulders and hold her straight up in the air.

the two of them were front and center when Trey was going off at the guitar. finally when he had stopped playing, he sat down and looked straight ahead. (by this time, david had told the people around him what he was trying to do for her).

before Trey started in on his next song, he looked out and saw fingers, in all directions, pointing at Dariyn.... He looked puzzled, but walked to the edge of the stage to see Dariyn holding this ticket up in the air shouting, "TREY! TREY!" he stretched forward, over the edge of the stage, while David stretched Dariyn out, over the stage barrier.... and the security guard passed the ticket between their hands that were inches apart....

David and Dariyn were both glowing....

amidst the cheering and celebrating, silence struck me and i noticed for a moment how perfect we were... floating on a cloud far, far away.....

this is my family... on one of its best days... happy, free from worldly pressures, and among the most beautiful group of people i have ever met....

at the time people were snapping pictures of this moment... I am looking for a photograph that will help me to preserve this memory... if anyone has a photo let me know... otherwise spread the story of how my life was saved by these two sweet angels, David and Dariyn.  Because of them i am able to feel what it is like to be totally fulfilled... what it is to find happiness.

have a beautiful day.... love, love.
