PholkTales: Encounters With the Band
Well, my friend Andy and I were walking outside the DAR Constitution Hall in DC looking for an extra ticket so he could get in. The effort had failed thus far, and we were content to just walk around for a little while and take in the semi-non-existent scene.

On one of our various trips around the perimeter of the venue, I noticed a person rollerblading out in the middle of the street. Since I didn't consider this the safest thing to be doing in heavy traffic in DC, I said to Andy, "Hey look at that idiot! He's gunna get slammed!" Well, I lost sight of him and soon forgot about the incident altogether.

Once we finished walking (still no extra for Andy), we intended to wait next at the will call booth in case they released some tickets to buy. The tour buses were parked near this area and since we hadn't seen any Oysterhead members there thus far, we thought nothing of the fact. Well, as we approached the buses, Andy suddenly stopped me in my tracks.

I wasn't exactly looking ahead at the time, but suddenly the words "Hey, there's Trey." (don't you love hearing that?) caught my attention. I looked up, and to my surprise (and utter horror), I saw Trey clad in every piece of safety equipment for rollerblading you could imagine. It took me a billionth of a second to realize this was the exact same person I had mocked rollerblading mere minutes before.

Despite feeling like a jackass for making fun of one of my heroes, I was eager to go up and wish him luck with the show that night. However, much to my dismay, he was instantly crowded by two very loud and very annoying girls thrilled to stupidity with the fact that Trey was at his own show. After a quick photograph and many attempts to wrestle himself away from the girls, Trey hastily retreated to the safety of the bus.

I was witness to this event no more then 10 feet away from Trey; however, I never received my chance to talk to him. The girls were already excitedly blabbing on their cell phones to God knows who and Trey was gone.

We waited by the tour bus and Andy finally got his extra when will call released tickets. The show was, needless to say, awesome.
