PholkTales: Encounters With the Band

Well, bear with me because I'm writing this tale a little intoxicated. It was trey tour 2001 at Virginia Tech, and the show was perfect.  It was nothing like i'd ever seen trey do before. The way he was working the horns into the groove made it a perfect setting for what was about to happen.

On this tour, Chris Kuroda was doing the lights, which means already you're in for a great experience, and he did his job to the fullest. After the show, i was passing by the light board and wanted to tell him how great of a job he did.

I came up to him and said, "The lights tonight where so right on, so tight!"  He motioned me to come closer, then put is arm around me and gave me a backstage pass. Right then, all that went through my mind was, I'm going to meet the man, I'M GOING TO MEET TREY!  It was perfect of course.

Backstage, before trey came down, i talked to chris about the lights for the show.  I mentioned that the lights for first tube were awesome...  i called them bowie lights.  He knew what i was taking about, too, and i bet everyone else would also.

Trey was amazing.  He was so easy to talk to and so excited to here what you say.  It was a great feeling to know that he cared about your opinion of his music. It was the best night of my life.  I hope that all of you will experience the same thing someday.  Thanks again chris and thank you phish for everything you have done. My life has been better since i found you guys.
