I, like many other people, was very disappointed when my mail order came back and i was denied tickets for MSG. But, i was still confident that i could get them because i still had a chance when they went on sale to the public. I waited and waited for that day to come and when it did, 15 minutes later i was real upset. I had not gotten tickets.

Now, my godfather works in the music business and when phish came to radio city, he somehow was able to get me tickets to that sold out show. So i put in a call to him and he put in the request to his people at MSG. Many months went by, and as the date approached, i still hadn't heard anything about the tickets. On christmas eve my godfather came over and he told me that he would know by the end of the week if i had gotten tickets or not.

the end of the week came and still no phone call from my godfather. finally i called him on monday, the day before the show, to see if he had heard anything, but i couldn't reach him. it was now tuesday and still nothing. Finally at about 11:30 i get a call from him saying that he hadn't heard anything, but it was going to be a last minute thing, and if i got tickets a woman from MSG would call me.

I live 2 hours away from the city, so i had pick a time that if i didn't know by then i would have to do something else. That time was 3:00. As i waited i started to watch the Live Las Vegas DVD, specifically the piper. I wanted to hear them so bad and i thought that piper would be a perfect song for the opener after 2 years.

it was now 2:30 and the phone rang. it was a lady from MSG. I had gotten 2 tickets. I went crazy and booked it to the city. I had no idea where i was sitting but i didn't care, i just wanted to be a part of it.

I finally get my tickets and then go to my seat. I am sitting about 10 feet away from the back right corner of the stage in the front row. This had to be the luckiest day ever. Finally the lights went down and the place exploded as they opened with piper.
